Meet Bella, our newest baby!
Meet Bella
Meet the newest baby on the farm. Isn’t she adorable?
Her mother is Snälla, and her father is Felipito, both of whom live here on the farm. Snälla means “nice” or “kind” in Swedish, and Felipito means, well, Philip.
Since Håkan and I are not currently on the farm, we have sadly not met her yet. Luckily, plenty of guests have been able to say hello for us.
Two children who visited recently, Tomas and Mida, helped us choose her name. They picked “Bella,” because she is beautiful — and because it rhymes with Snälla. The pronunciation is a little tricky, since the double-L in Spanish is soft, so we may have to explain that this is more like the Italian bella: said with a flourish and a firm double L.
Bella is already fun to watch: running in the fields, learning to chew grass, and playing with her sister, Poppy, who was born here last year.
We now have four donkeys on the farm.
Might we say we have an abundance of adorable?
