Tomas and Tito
One of the real pleasures of life here is getting to share the farm with families who are genuinely curious about how things work. Recently, we hosted a family with two kids who seem very likely to grow up as farmers—or at least carry a deep appreciation for animals and early mornings.
They dove right in. Up with the sun each day, they were quick to “assist” our crew with the morning routines, especially anything involving the goats. There was feeding, a few earnest attempts at milking, chicken chores, and plenty of time spent socializing the baby goats, who were more than happy to receive the attention.
Tomas, in particular, took his responsibilities seriously. He was visibly proud the day he helped lead our boy goat, Tito, out to pasture—rope in hand, confidence high, Tito calmly following along. It was one of those small moments that quietly captures what we hope this place can be: a chance for kids to feel capable, connected, and part of something real.
Watching children move so comfortably among the animals—learning by doing, getting dirty, asking good questions—is a reminder of why we love welcoming families here. The goats didn’t mind the extra help one bit.
